Transfers, Tensions, and a Throwback Kit

It’s been an oddly quiet summer at Craven Cottage — and the silence is starting to get loud. With the Premier League season kicking off this Friday against Brighton, Fulham have made just one senior signing: goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte for a bargain £500k. Marco Silva clearly had bigger plans, but so far the recruitment drive has been more of a recruitment stroll.

Transfer Market: Big Names, Bigger Maybes

The club has been linked with a handful of eye-catching targets — Raheem Sterling from Chelsea, Shakhtar’s Brazilian winger Kevin for a cool €37m, and Real Sociedad striker Umar Sadiq. There’s also been strong resistance to letting Rodrigo Muniz go, even with Atalanta reportedly waving £34.5m in Fulham’s direction.

On the bright side, we’ve locked down a phenomenal prospect, 18-year-old midfielder Josh King until 2029 and he's looked really solid this summer. If he can handle the pressure of the Prem he'll be something to watch this season.

Manager Mood: Cooling Fast

Silva’s contract negotiations have stalled, and you can feel the frustration. He’s made no secret of his disappointment with the lack of movement, and if this continues past the window, we might be looking at more than just a mid-table battle this season — we might be talking about keeping our manager. For the sake of continuity it would be a disaster to see him go.

Injuries and Opportunities

Antonee Robinson’s knee surgery means he’ll miss the opener, giving youngster Samuel Amissah a chance to step up. That’s not ideal for a defensive unit that already needs reinforcements.

Off the Pitch: Luxury vs Legacy

Fulham’s new £100m Riverside Stand has opened in style, complete with luxury lounges, terraces, and even an infinity pool on the horizon. The members-only Lighthouse Social Club adds another layer of exclusivity. While it’s an architectural showpiece, it’s sparking the usual debate: are we elevating the matchday experience, or drifting from the club’s roots?

The Fun Stuff: Kit Drop

The 2025-26 third kit was revealed — and it’s already causing a stir among fans. The throwback look is nice, but I've never been a fan of that shade of green.

My Take

Fulham are balancing ambition with hesitation right now. The right signings in the next couple of weeks could turn this into a genuine top-half campaign. But if the window closes with just one new arrival, expect the pressure to mount — both on the pitch and in the manager’s office.
