“You know I wanna be
Above everything
But I'm just not there yet”
-Sven Gamsky
In July I finally had the chance to see one of my favorite musical artists, Still Woozy.
My best friend Zach and I picked up on Sven Gamsky (Still Woozy) in college with bangers like Habit and Goodie Bag. Needless to say we’ve loved him ever since and were looking for a chance to see him on the East Coast since we missed his Philly show last year. We narrowed in on Brooklyn and Amtrak’d our way to NYC (P.S. was a great way to travel, cheap and quick).
After a quick stop at the hotel and some wonderful tacos from a local spot we ventured into the venue at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
Oh what a wonderful night it was - the set up couldn’t have been better (outdoor, lots of space, and adequate porta potties everywhere) and the music was everything we hoped for. Kate Bollinger opened up the night up perfectly and by the time Sven came out we were feeling nicey. Still Woozy performed an incredible set and had a sea of people singing along. His music is so chill and soothing that it almost felt like a pre-game for another event so we were amped up for more.
After the show we decided to rent bikes and continue the night. Who knew Citi bikes in Brooklyn could be so much fun? We probably spent an hour and a half cruising around. The streets are perfectly suited for biking with bike lanes out the wazoo and the traffic was light because it was late. Next stop was more amazing food from a Halal truck and we were ready to call it a night.
Highly recommend Still Woozy, and I’d give his live concert performance an 8.3/10.
